The ghost of greenspond...comments from a mr. Eric Burrey, owner of the high tide bar in greenspond....In the years 1899-1920 a ghost haunted the small community of greenspond Newfoundland. It was not the first reported spook in the towns history as the town is one of the oldest ciommunities in north Americia..going back 300 years...The story goes that a spook would appear randommly on dark foggy nights and scare the hell out of ya...moving quickly through the fog...never ever caught, often cased by men with guns...one night a young captin who just returned from the war was walking his future bride home, capt carter saw the spook first and told his mises she should go in, she turned and saw the spook and fainted, Carter immediatly brought her home, told her father to take care of her and went after the spook...when...
